When Bill Baize started singing Gospel music, he had to stand on a chair for people to see him. He had the beautiful soprano voice of youth.
Later, at the ripe old age of 14, Bill joined his first quartet. And he was in several others. But he is probably best known for his work with JD Sumner and the Stamps.
Bill was a Christian before he met Elvis, and explains how he stayed one while working for him.
Betty Holbert says
Hello I watch the Stamps and Elvis singing Lead Me Guide Me after a concert and I was immediately drawn to you and I didn’t know why but I kept listening to it over and over. I finally got on other sites until I found your name and I finally figured out why I was so drawn to you. 1. You have a beautiful voice 2 . I think I sensed that you were a man of God. I am 74 years old so I wasn’t struck on you but I couldn’t get enough of seeing you in your younger years and listening to your songs . I got on your website and listened to the chat about your christian life from a young boy until now and I really admire you. I always wondered if everyone of Elvis’s back up singers were on drugs too and it does my heart good to know you didn’t live that kind of life while you were with him. I will be following your music and wish I could see more videos of when you were younger. God Bless You
